By fighting malnutrition with the non profit "MUNAI"

Since 2011, MUNAI has dedicated to developing high impact solutions for children, youth and single parents. In 2014, it was noticed that the children we worked with were not significantly growing. Many of them were sick most of the time, they were having a hard time paying attention, learning and following instructions.

These children didn't have access to drinkable water. They may eat a real meal once a day (if that). With the main consumption being carbs, due to affordability.

It was excruciating to see so many families and children in need. Living on less than a dollar a day.

Our high impact nutritional solutions have won several grants and national social innovation contests. We also had the opportunity to make a TED talk about this!

We are facing a very important mission: To eradicate malnutrition from its roots. Through high impact nutritional solutions.

This will be achieved through POWERFUL MORINGA! Along with educational strategies based on conscious nutrition and functional agriculture.

Malnutrition not only affects the child physically, but it has also been proven to create irreversible cognitive damages. Limiting a vast array of opportunities in life.

Food sovereignty becomes a priority, that's why creating nutritional and educational solutions about nutrition and healthy habits is fundamental to guarantee a country with a higher quality lifestyle.

To prevent and decrease malnutrition in infants and children, we have developed two main solutions.

  1. ALL ONE Program: To provide OKUs Moringa to nonprofits and communities that support children in vulnerable communities.

  1. GREAT HEROES Program: Teach vulnerable communities that are in the right climate where Moringa grows, to have personal Moringa crops to provide fresh leaves, fruits and seed for themselves and to share them, with their communities.

Through the Creative Nutritional Academy: NUTRICHEF, MUNAI teaches children, parents and their guardians include Moringa in their daily meals to increase its nutritional value drastically!

1. The nonprofit “Las Pulgas”: Located in Soacha, Colombia.

This nonprofit supports a community that receives 70% of displaced families, from many regions of Colombia. Without drinkable water, access to healthy food and limited education; these children still smile and dream with a prosper future for their families and themselves.

With 95% chronic malnutrition rates they are committed to giving them at least two healthy snacks and a full nutritional lunch every day. With OKU’s MORINGA their health is increasing, with their energy and immune system.

    2. The nonprofit “Hilo Sagrado”: Located in La Guajira Colombia.

Since 2013, Hilo Sagrado has implemented a model of inclusive development which recognizes the deep cultural legacy and value of artisan communities in Latin America, and which seeks to empower women with the tools that allow them to improve their quality of life.

Through education, economic empowerment and sustainable development, our aim is that the communities that we work with can become self-sustainable, providing women with the necessary tools to become micro-entrepreneurs, to take ownership of their own work, and to escape from extreme poverty.

This social impact model is different because it is driven by three core principles: education, economic empowerment of women, and sustainable development.

Due to the strong ties that HILO SAGRADO has in La Guajira, Colombia, our giving back joint venture has managed to start a process of suggesting the way mothers in using Moringa as a nutritional food for their kids. We teach them how to prepare the Moringa and we keep track of the results, to make the necessary adjustments to the program.
